INTERSHIPS
Over the years the IECS has received more than 23 interns coming from different countries to pursueactivities in Argentina that are related to their future careers and professions. We have developed human and professional ties that enrich our institution today.
This is area is continuosly increasing and its development contributes to the training of professionals worldwide.

This year we welcome two interns from Tulane University, New Orleans, USA: Aklecia McVoy and Connie Khanh Nguyen, under the MHIRT Program (Minority Health and Health Disparities International Research Training Program).
We also have the presence of an intern from Yale University Hofnaile Helena and an intern from Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos, Lima Peru, Dr. Urday Dayana Fernandez.
2008 Program NIH / Fogarty International Clinical Research Scholars Program (FICRS)
- Nancy Liu is a student of Ph.D in Clinical Psychology at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, USA, was incorporated in August 2008 as a Fellow in the Department of Health Research for Mothers and Children under the NIH / Fogarty International Clinical Research Scholars Program (FICRS). Currently, he is primarily in the project: Preference for women through pregnancy termination in Argentina, which is in preparation. Nancy remained in the IECS during 10 months.

- Sarah Iribarren is originally from the United States of America, where she did a doctorate in nursing. During her stay at IECS, she participated in the following research projects: 'A multilevel analysis of health care facilities and individual characteristics associated with successful treatment of tuberculosis in high burden departments in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The role of DOT 'and' comparative study on the economic impact of cardiovascular disease in the household economy.

During the months of May and June two pharmacy students from National University of Colombia visited us: Laura Angélica Pineda Velandia and Sergio Rodrigo Basto Pacheco. They were undertaking a literature review of the economic and clinical impact of pharmaceutical services, with special emphasis on pharmacotherapeutic follow-up.

Health Management, expected May 2009, Yale School of Public Health, in conjunction with the Yale School of Management, B.A. Political Science with a concentration in Health Policy, expected May 2008, Yale University; and Jhenette R. Lauder, Anthropology with a Pre-medical track.

Marit Schou Hauger, a student of medicine at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Faculty of Medicine. Thesis: Studio Pre-pregnancy Body Mass Index (BMI) and pregnancy outcome in Argentina Fernanda Maciel Rebelo, her visit is within the framework of a technical cooperation agreement between the IECS and ANVISA (the agency which regulates medicines and technologies Brazil, as the ANMAT) Dorothea Dixon and Krystal Kofie, Grant minority awarded by Tulane University, USA.
