The IECS will be the coordinating institution of a project financed by the World Heart Federation

Buenos Aires January 30, 2020 – In October 2019, our researcher Rosana Poggio was accepted into the Salim Yusuf Emerging Leaders program of the World Heart Federation This is a very prestigious initiative known throughout the world in which more than 100 countries participate and which constitutes an opportunity for training in cardiovascular health research.

During the development of this program, Dr. Poggio, along with other professionals from India, Africa, Mexico, Colombia and Argentina gathered under the name “COMM-HF team”, competed for funding granted by the World Heart Federation to improve secondary prevention for patients diagnosed with heart failure.

This week, we were informed that the COMM-HF team was chosen to develop said project during this year and in 2021, that the work will be carried out in Argentina and that the IECS will be the coordinating institution. In this way, Poggio will be the principal investigator of a study titled “A community-based multicomponent heart failure program in low- and middle-income countries.”

That our researchers are chosen in such competitive circumstances is a great source of pride. Congratulations Rosana!
