The IECS and the SATI in a project to support ICUs in the context of a pandemic

The Covid-19 pandemic increases risks for patients and also health professionals. In this context, the Department of Quality, Patient Safety and Clinical Management is carrying out a study together with the Society Argentina Intensive Care (SATI) and with financing from Pfizer International. The objective of the project is to support public sector intensive care units in a collaborative manner to improve the performance and safety of patients, focusing on health professionals. Through the collaborative model, the following components are being implemented:

  1. Appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  2. Emotional impact: systematic detection of the emotional impact in the personal, family and professional sphere of the health team, and if necessary, counseling interventions will be provided based on digital applications (Ser + con Covid-19) and resources from each institution.
  1. Patient flow: daily reminder for ICU discharge planning and 8 patient safety care processes during morning rounds.

With this, the project seeks to sustain the availability of health professionals in critical areas and also maintain the supply of beds in critical areas at a time of so much demand.
