IECS publishes new scientific advances in health

Learn about the new IECS scientific publications that strengthen knowledge and decision-making in health.

Over the past month, the IECS team has continued to contribute scientific evidence in diverse areas of health, including mental well-being in parents of children with intellectual disabilities, shingles and COVID-19, the use of artificial intelligence in diabetic retinography screening, the safety of emerging vaccines in pregnancy and childhood, and digital tools for tuberculosis treatment.

One of the notable advances was the publication of the Health Technology Assessment (HTA) team in the journal International Journal of Technology Assessment in Health Care (IJTAHC). The paper presents a value framework designed for rapid health technology assessments (adaptive HTAs). This study balances quality of evidence, net benefit, and economic impact in just 4 to 8 weeks, offering a key resource for decision-making in resource-limited settings.
