IECS research and commitment on the International Day of Action for Women's Health

Within the framework of the International Day of Action for Women's Health, a day aimed at reaffirming and guaranteeing the right to comprehensive health of all women and girls in the world, making visible the inequities and specific challenges they face in terms of health. ; From the Institute of Clinical and Health Effectiveness (IECS) we renew our commitment to improving global health, generating and promoting the application of the best scientific evidence. In this sense, research plays a fundamental role in the design of effective and equitable health policies and programs.

Below, we share some of our projects linked to women's health:

Qualitative research on adherence to oncological treatment during the COVID-19 pandemic: We conducted a study with the aim of understanding the obstacles and facilitators to adherence to oncological treatment from the perspective of patients with breast cancer. The results obtained allowed us to design strategies that facilitate the effective continuity of care in future health crises. Link to the project 

Analysis of national guidelines and policies for family planning and self-care in sexual and reproductive health: We work on the analysis of national guidelines and policies for family planning and guidelines for self-care practices in sexual and reproductive health of the World Health Organization (WHO). ), in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, in selected countries in America. Link to the project 

Study on sexual, reproductive and maternal health in the vulnerable population of Latin America and the Caribbean: we present a final report with the results and scope of this study that we led, with the aim of improving the health of the vulnerable population in the region.  Link to document 

Currently, we are working on the development, implementation and dissemination of solutions based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) to improve access, care and quality of sexual, reproductive and maternal health services in Latin America and the Caribbean. Link to the project 

Additionally, our research team is participating in a cost-effectiveness study of calcium supplementation to prevent preeclampsia in low- and middle-income countries, as well as a live systematic review on the safety and efficacy of COVID-9 vaccines. XNUMX in pregnancy.

Finally, we are developing a tool to evaluate the gender perspective in research and political advocacy projects, which will soon be published.
