Gender and Equity Policy
IECS decides to adopt a gender and equity policy that promotes an inclusive work environment free from violence, harassment and discrimination.
Following this premise, in 2019, a group of male and female collaborators of the institution started a proposal to develop a process of equal opportunity promotion. The IECS steering team assumed a strong commitment with this and the proposal advanced under the guidance of a specialized consulting office, which made a diagnosis of the situation and designed an action plan. Within this action plan, a Handbook of Coexistence, a Good Practice Guide and a Reminder of Non-tolerated Practices document, which are the tools defining the institution’s position and those intervention tools used to face and resolve situation resulting in inequity and discrimination.
In 2020, a permanent work team – the Equal Rights, Diversity and Gender Equity Committee – consolidated. Its aim was to follow up and assess the actions taken and to create opportunities for analysis and training.
This will enable IECS to shape an organizational culture based on the principle of equity.
