Design, programming and analysis of Markov models

    • All, Health Technology Assessment and Economic EvaluationsENG

This course is eminently practical. Unlike the postgraduate course in “Economic Evaluations: Programming, analysis and interpretation of models”, it focuses on state transition models or commonly called “Markov” models and we use Microsoft Excel for programming. Currently Excel is the most used software to carry out economic evaluations in the scientific community since it has several advantages over others such as Tree Age, among which stands out that it is practically universal, which allows it to be easily shared and evaluated. its versatility to generate various analyzes and the low cost of its license.

After a brief theoretical introduction to health economic evaluations and modeling techniques, we work on the design, programming and analysis of the model using as an example an economic evaluation of an oncological drug.

Throughout the course, you will work on your personal computer solving the instructions given by the tutors.
