Summary:

Within the framework of the call for the Health Investiga scholarships of the Ministry of Health of the Nation, the IECS together with the Municipality of Almirante Brown jointly implement a research study with the objective of evaluating whether a multi-component intervention mediated by team members of health manages to improve adherence to anti-hypertensive medication in poorly controlled hypertensive patients. It is known that poor adherence to chronic treatments is a serious public health problem and this study is based on the strengthening of self-care promoted by the Model of Care for People with Chronic Illnesses. The main component of the intervention is based on monitoring the medication possession rate through the evaluation of CAPS pharmacy withdrawals. The study will be carried out in 5 CAPS in the Municipality of Almirante Brown where 125 participants will receive the components of the intervention during 6 months of follow-up. It is expected that this study will provide evidence generated in the public care system that will contribute to the development of more effective interventions to improve therapeutic adherence in chronic pathologies.
