Summary:
This research consists of a before-after study whose objective is to evaluate the effectiveness and feasibility of the implementation of a multicomponent community approach strategy, at the first level of care and in the articulation of the primary and secondary levels of health care. to increase the coverage of population screening for colorectal cancer in the public health system. The effective rate of CRC screening and detection remains very low in the public subsector despite the efforts made to improve it, resulting in a greater risk for the vulnerable population.

The study will be carried out in 6 CAPS in the metropolitan area of Mendoza and 2 reference hospitals. The strategy combines a set of tools in organization and training systems for health personnel that will be carried out in the CAPS and in the community. The highlighted components are: identification of the population eligible for screening, facilitation of access to the fecal occult blood test (TSOMFi) and recovery of results, facilitation of access to the first level of care, use of an application to calculate the risk of CCR and determine the appropriate follow-up strategy, counseling patients, facilitating access to the second level of care by assigning protected shifts and monitoring consultation attendance.

It is expected that this study will contribute to improving population screening processes and early detection of CRC in the community.
