COVID-19 Health System Preparedness and Response in Corrientes province, Argentina

Objective:
Provide guidance to adapt the response of the local health system to face the COVID19 pandemic, in order to achieve adequate sanitary results in the province of Corrientes.
Summary:
The project was developed in three work components. A) Adaptation of an epidemiological model to evaluate the health impact and estimate the necessary resources to face the epidemic in the province. For this, a dynamic transmission model was adapted to estimate the expected number of cases in different scenarios. B) Preparedness and adaptation of the provincial health system for an adequate response to the epidemic, which included, among other activities, the analysis and advice on the adaptation / elaboration of prevention / action and response protocols to COVID-19 in different areas of health services. C) Implementation of an effective and efficient method of identification of cases, research and follow-up of contacts to control the epidemic.
