The IECS obtained 8 scholarships from the National Health Investigative Commission

19 / 7 / 2019.

IECS researchers began applying for these scholarships in the period 2002-2003, (at which time 4 research grants were obtained) and since then, almost uninterruptedly, our researchers have applied for and won these scholarships every year. Throughout 17 years of history we have obtained 43 of these research subsidies that today are called Salud Investiga and that in previous editions were called Carrillo Oñativia.

We congratulate the IECS researchers who have won the 2019 edition, who will expand knowledge in public health through projects that have the following titles:

  • Situation analysis of the approach to Chagas disease at the First Level of Care in Argentina.
  • Syphilis during pregnancy: Qualitative study for the design of a multicomponent strategy to prevent vertical transmission of syphilis in public primary care providers in the Province of Buenos Aires.
  • Effectiveness of a multi-component intervention mediated by the family and community health team to improve therapeutic adherence in people with chronic diseases.
  • Perception of health professionals and parents about the benefits and risks of childhood vaccination. Qualitative study in two cities in Argentina.
  • Evaluation of patient safety at the first level of care: Cohort study.
  • Implementation of the Family and Community Health Strategy in Tierra del Fuego: impact on high blood pressure and diabetes.
  • Implementation of a multicomponent intervention to promote healthy habits and prevent childhood obesity in primary care. Qualitative study in the municipality of Marcos Paz.
  • Indicators for evaluation and monitoring of the Chagas disease situation in a province with a high risk of transmission.

These subsidies are added to the more than 50 obtained by the IECS so far in 2019 by institutions such as: NIH, IDRC, IDB, PAHO, among others.
