Karen Klein was selected to enter the Conicet researcher career based at the CIESP

Karen Klein, researcher at Department of Mother and Child Health of the IECS, entered the CONICET Health Researcher Career.

With the proposed titlea “Multifaceted intervention to improve access to comprehensive care for Chagas disease at the first level of care in Argentina”, Klein was selected to conduct studies on Chagas, a public health problem in Argentina that, according to PAHO, affects 1.870.000 people, including infected people and people with Chagas heart disease. Given that vertical transmission is today the most frequent mode of transmission, Klein will address diagnosis and treatment at an early age, mainly in women of childbearing age, to help break the cycle by preventing transmission to future children.

Karen Klein is a doctor from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA), an international master's degree in Public Health from the École des Hautes Études en Santé Publique (EHESP),  France, and master's degree in Clinical Effectiveness from the Faculty of Medicine (UBA). She is currently a researcher at the IECS Department of Maternal and Child Health.
